Anu Singh is a Managing Director of Kaufman Hall and leader of the firm’s Partnership, Mergers and Partnerships practice. With 30 years of experience as a trusted advisor to top executives and boards nationwide, he has worked on more than 500 partnership, strategic growth, and other advisory engagements for a broad range of mission-based as well as for-profit organizations.

Mr. Singh’s experience includes leading the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, affiliations, and other forms of transactions. He also advises on corporate governance-related matters, including the consideration of fiduciary duties in pursuing transactions and strategic initiatives. He also advises organizations in the evaluation of their strategic options, the pursuit of growth strategies, and consideration of business unit/segment optimization assessments. Mr. Singh’s clients include health care providers, health plans, higher education institutions, independent research organizations, government agencies and authorities as well as number of corporate or for-profit enterprises. He also has represented an array of capital providers, sponsors, and lenders.

Mr. Singh is known for his deep expertise in industry transformation, change management, strategic repositioning, collaboration, partnership, and transaction strategies. He routinely leads Board and management retreats, and is a regular speaker at national and regional industry events, including those sponsored by The Governance Institute, Healthcare Financial Management Association, state hospital associations, trade organizations, and other industry participants. Mr. Singh has authored numerous reports and articles for professional journals such as Trustee, Mode, and Health System Management. He often is quoted in national media and industry publications such as HealthLeaders Media, Modern Healthcare, and Forbes.

Prior to Kaufman Hall, Mr. Singh was a Director in the Corporate Advisory Services practice of Huron Consulting Group. He executed turnaround and restructuring plans, advised on mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, and raised capital for a variety of clients across various industries. Mr. Singh has extensive overseas work experience, particularly on behalf of aid agencies, central banks, and other parties during major financial market restructurings. 

Mr. Singh has an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds or has held CPA, CFA, CTP, CIRA, and CDBV certifications as well as certain financial securities licenses.
