As managing director of the consulting and advisory firm Kaufman Hall, a Vizient company, Kris Blohm co-leads a team of professionals specializing in healthcare mergers and acquisitions across the continuum of care. His team’s expertise spans health systems, health plans, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups and a broad range of healthcare services and technology sectors.
Kris advises hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, health plans, and healthcare organizations on complex strategic and transaction-related decisions to enable growth, performance and long-term sustainability. He leads mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and partnership transactions, as well as strategic options and assessment engagements. Through disciplined financial analysis, capital markets insight and structured transaction execution, he delivers strategic clarity, competitive positioning and measurable value creation for clients navigating transformational change.
A nationally recognized advisor with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare financing and strategic transactions — including more than 10 years at Kaufman Hall — Kris brings deep expertise across the healthcare ecosystem, which also includes experience spanning life sciences and medical technology. He is frequently sought out to advise senior executives, boards and investors on partnership strategy, transaction alternatives and capital alignment that support value creation and sustainable growth. He has authored multiple publications on healthcare partnership trends and regularly presents at industry and investor conferences.
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Kris was an executive director in the healthcare investment banking group at Stifel, where he led corporate finance and M&A assignments across healthcare services and technology sectors. Earlier in his career, he held investment banking and private equity roles at Cowen and Galen Partners, advising corporate healthcare clients and executing principal investments and leveraged buyouts. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Société Générale.
He holds a master of accounting and a bachelor of science in management with a major in finance from Tulane University.
