Patti Nemeth is a Senior Vice President with Kaufman Hall’s Revenue & Operations Improvement (ROI) practice. She brings 30 years of nursing experience in emergency services and critical care along with more than 15 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement (CDI) roles and consulting. Her primary focus includes clinical documentation improvement audits, reviews, physician documentation queries and revenue cycle auditing, all supported by her strong clinical knowledge.
Before joining Kaufman Hall, Patti’s past roles included Clinical Documentation Specialist in the acute inpatient setting and Manager of CDI at a 1,000-bed academic medical center in Michigan. She has partnered with hospitals across the U.S., delivering CDI expertise, analyzing data to support process change adoption and helping clients improve the quality and consistency of patient outcomes. She has also developed and led physician and hospital staff training programs in clinical documentation and coding, designed tools to strengthen collaboration among clinical and coding teams and provided physician compliance education.
She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Wayne State University and a bachelor of science in life sciences from Grand Valley State University. She also completed a graduate certificate in healthcare management from Eastern Michigan University. Patti is a registered nurse and holds certifications as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) and a 2015 AHIMA-approved ICD-10/PCS Trainer.
She is an active member of AHIMA and ACDIS and previously served as president of Michigan ACDIS from 2013 to 2017.
