Mike Tym is a Managing Director for Kaufman Hall’s Treasury and Capital Markets practice. He advises healthcare leaders nationwide on Treasury and Capital Markets topics, including credit and capital management, external financing, treasury operations, treasury platform merger integration, and strategic resource allocation.

Mike spent 12 years in the futures trading industry, four of which were as a self-employed investment advisor managing client capital in global derivatives markets.

He previously served as a Managing Director at Ponder & Co. for the Capital Advisory Group, he served a variety of healthcare clients including community hospitals, senior living facilities and multi-state hospital systems. During his tenure with the firm, he advised clients on more than 250 financings using the spectrum of financing options from traditional products to the less conventional structured options. His goal is to be an advocate for clients during the financing process and provide education to management and board members with an emphasis on ensuring clients understand the risks and rewards of each financing structure.

Mike holds a B.S. in finance with an emphasis in economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Additionally, he is a CFA® charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute and the Investment Analyst Society of Chicago. He is a registered Municipal Advisor (Series 50) and is a Municipal Advisor Principal (Series 54).

Mike served on the board of The Caring Place for 14 years. The Caring Place is a local not-for-profit organization providing services to victims of domestic violence.
