Ms. Richardson is a Managing Director with Kaufman Hall and has deep experience in clinical documentation improvement (CDI), compliance, and coding. Linda has nearly 20 years of experience in implementing and enhancing coding/documentation improvement programs across the country and has over 40 years of experience in the healthcare environment.

Linda’s background is nursing, and her experience includes management, education and direct patient care as an RN and Nurse Practitioner in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her areas of focus include medical/surgical, orthopedics, wound care, occupational medicine, ICU and NICU.

Linda has a very successful track record in delivering results for both new and existing clinical documentation improvement programs in a variety of settings including small community hospitals as well as large academic medical centers and health care systems. She has assisted with implementing and managing numerous CDI programs, providing the necessary education and resources for concurrent review staff, inpatient coders, physicians, and executive leadership. Linda has been very successful in developing the processes and tools for effective teamwork and collaboration between concurrent review staff, coding professionals, physicians, and other clinical review staff to bridge the communication gap between clinical and payer language. 

Linda currently provides oversight for the IP clinical/coding team within Kaufman Hall’s ROI practice.

Linda holds an M.S.N. from Indiana University and an A.S.N. and B.S.N. from The University of the State of New York, she is CCDS and CCS Certified.
