Kimberly Gilbert is a Senior Vice President for Kaufman Hall’s Revenue Operations Integrity Practice. Her responsibilities include collaborating with hospital leadership, coding teams and clinical documentation specialist across the nation in the assessment, education, and training of clinical documentation improvement methodology in acute inpatient care encounters, denial and appeal management and various acute inpatient care quality programs.

Mrs. Gilbert has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare. Her expertise spans various areas, including clinical documentation improvement, medical necessity and compliance auditing, consulting, curriculum development and education.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, she was a coding manager for a large manage advantage plan physician group, clinical documentation improvement specialist, revenue cycle nurse auditor at several large academic medical centers, lead auditor for a CMS ZPIC program and nurse educator for a large med/surg intensive care unit. 

Mrs. Gilbert earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women’s University and earned master’s degrees in healthcare administration and human resource both from American Intercontinental University.
