Barbara Vandegrift, RN

Barbara is a Senior Vice President with Kaufman Hall’s Revenue & Operations Improvement practice. With over 25 years as a nursing case management leader and educator, she has extensive experience in guiding the provision of case management services in acute hospital settings. In collaboration with healthcare systems and individuals, she has provided staff management, development, and skill building in quality management, utilization management, cost avoidance and revenue integrity. Barbara is deeply passionate about achieving operational efficiencies by leveraging proactive approaches to clinical resource management through process re-engineering and data analytics.

Barbara has also consulted on large-scale healthcare programs, including Michigan’s MI Health Link, supporting integrating Medicare and Medicaid services for dual-eligible beneficiaries.

Barbara holds an MHA from Siena Heights University and a BSN from Oakland University. She has published multiple articles on case management and regulatory issues.
