Anne Schmidt, DNP, ANP-C, CENP, CPHQ, FAONL

As Senior Vice President at the consulting and advisory firm Kaufman Hall, a Vizient company, Anne Schmidt, DNP, ANP-C, CENP, CPHQ, FAONL, partners with hospitals and health systems to advance care delivery excellence through innovative care models, workforce optimization and performance improvement.

Anne advises healthcare executives and clinical leaders on strategies to strengthen clinical operations, enhance workforce effectiveness and improve organizational performance. Drawing on more than 35 years of healthcare leadership experience across the care continuum—including ambulatory care, acute care, home health, community-based organizations and academic medical centers—she helps organizations design sustainable models of care that improve quality, safety, patient experience and workforce engagement.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Anne served as a Clinical Consultant in Optum's Care Transformation division, supporting healthcare organizations in care redesign and performance transformation initiatives. Earlier in her career, she led nursing and operational programs focused on care delivery excellence, professional nursing practice, Magnet recognition, workforce effectiveness and quality outcomes.

Anne holds a doctor of nursing practice in healthcare quality from The George Washington University, a master of science in nursing from the University of San Diego, and a post-master's certificate in nursing administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board certified as an adult nurse practitioner with a geriatric subspecialty and holds certifications as a Certified Executive in Nursing Practice (CENP) and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). A Fellow of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (FAONL) and former member of the AONL Board of Directors, Anne was selected for induction into the American Academy of Nursing in 2026, one of the profession's highest honors recognizing significant contributions to healthcare and nursing leadership.
