Jim Landman is a Senior Vice President in the Thought Leadership group at Kaufman Hall. In this role, he works with the firm’s executive leadership, industry groups, and other external partners in the development and dissemination of content related to industry trends and strategy.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Mr. Landman was Director, Healthcare Finance Policy, Perspectives & Analysis, for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). At HFMA, he led a multi-year initiative designed to help healthcare organizations manage the transition to value-based payment and care delivery models. He also led research projects on factors driving growth in total cost of care, and on the societal benefits of services provided by academic medical centers. Mr. Landman was staff liaison to HFMA’s Strategy and Innovation National Advisory Council and directed HFMA’s Healthcare Leadership Council, an industry advisory group comprised of representatives from the government, policy groups, provider organizations, and health plans.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Landman served as Associate Director of the American Bar Association Division for Public Education, Assistant Professor of English Literature at the University of North Texas, and Associate Attorney in the Real Estate group at Faegre & Benson (now Faegre Baker Daniels LLP).

Mr. Landman holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Minnesota, a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and a B.A. in English Literature from Northwestern University. He was a 1993-94 United Kingdom Fulbright Scholar at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University.
