CHICAGO – September 13, 2019 – Kaufman Hall, a leading provider of enterprise performance management software, data and management consulting services, announced today that Gartner, Inc., has placed the Kaufman Hall (Axiom Software) in the Challengers quadrant of its “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Financial Planning and Analysis Solutions.” This is the second year in a row Kaufman Hall has been acknowledged, which aligns with the organization’s strategic focus on continuing to adapt and grow to meet the changing needs of healthcare, financial institutions and higher education clients in North America.

Kaufman Hall believes that Axiom’s placement in the Challengers quadrant recognizes the software’s proven ability to support financial operations and provide advanced analytics and product capabilities—as measured by improvement in client experience, market engagement, and recurring revenue growth. The report recognized the company for its completeness of vision and ability to execute.

"We are thrilled to be recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, and are most excited by the growth and improvement measured since last year,” said Kermit Randa, CEO of Kaufman Hall Software. “We’re advancing how healthcare, higher education and financial institutions’ finance leaders face complex challenges, both through the availability of robust data analytics capabilities and enhancements in Axiom functionality, and through scalable and engineered solutions to improve the user experience. Client satisfaction is our top priority, and we continue to lead the market in delivering the best performance management and financial planning and analysis solutions and services.”

Kaufman Hall's Axiom Software Suite empowers financial professionals to analyze results, model the future, and optimize organizational decision making. The cloud-based suite includes a variety of solutions, including budgeting and forecasting, long-range planning, capital planning and management, performance reporting, and decision support and analytics.

Since July of last year, Kaufman Hall has launched three new solutions: Comparative Analytics for healthcare, Tuition Planning for higher education, and Relationship Profitability and Pricing for financial institutions—which contributed to Axiom’s high ranking. Reference customers reported that their top three product selection criteria were compatibility with Microsoft Excel, industry-specific capabilities and the flexibility of the solution, all of which make it easier for financial leaders to effectively use Axiom’s powerful capabilities.

“More organizations are recognizing the need for advanced financial planning and analytics capabilities to tackle the rapid changes occurring in their industries,” said Kevin Smith, executive vice president of product management and strategy, Kaufman Hall Software. “These professionals not only need to respond more quickly, but also look ahead and anticipate changes months or even years from now. We’re helping these clients improve financial performance, make effective decisions and achieve transformative outcomes that they can sustain even as markets shift.”

Kaufman Hall’s Axiom Software was designed from day one to be a scalable, enterprise-ready, cloud-based financial planning and analysis system. A significant portion of Axiom’s success can be attributed to this best-in-class platform approach. Yet it also stems from the deliberate way in which the value of the platform is delivered—via industry-specific products that blend the power of the platform with the business logic and rules required within each industry.

Gartner classifies three types of cloud service vendors that met the inclusion criteria for this Magic Quadrant for Cloud Financial Planning and Analysis Solutions are:

  • Cloud-only vendors with cloud solutions wholly or largely architected from the outset as cloud services
  • Traditional on-premises vendors with new “built for the cloud” solutions
  • Traditional on-premises vendors that have made their solutions available as a cloud service
