What will my experience be like?

You will work with industry leaders at Kaufman Hall on the breadth of strategic and financial challenges facing the nation’s leading healthcare services providers

Will I have exposure to all practices?

The types of challenges you work on will cross practices and be determined by firm need and your interests and strengths. Our projects span multiple consulting fields including strategic planning, financial planning, performance improvement, capital markets and strategic partnerships.

Is this a structured rotational program?

The associate program is a mentorship program and not a structured rotational program.

What type of training do you offer?

We have a structured new hire training program which includes training for each practice area, healthcare industry background and cross-practice skills like communications and presentations.

Will I have a mentor?

You will have a “counselor” that will help guide your career development.

What makes Kaufman Hall Different?

Our consulting team focuses on healthcare. We run the gamut of strategic and transactional services that you would not find at any other professional services firm. Our staff come from the most prestigious investment banking and consulting firms to create integrated solutions for our clients. As a new hire, that means you work with the best in the industry across a wider array of the most important challenges then you will find at any other organization

How will I develop?

We develop junior staff through four approaches. First, we bring all new hires through a general training program that focuses on core consulting skills across all practices. This includes presentation skills, quantitative modeling, and structuring complex problems.  Secondly, we offer practice-specific training as appropriate. For example, our capital markets team provides a comprehensive overview of the capital market landscape and approaches. Third, we actively develop our staff on projects through our apprenticeship model. Senior staff on projects work closely with staff at all levels to improve critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and technical skills. Finally, each staff is assigned a formal counselor that guides their development and ensures that they are both giving and getting the best of the firm

How will I rotate across practices?

We do not use a highly structured or siloed rotational program. Rather, new staff aligns to practices based on their interest and practice needs. Some staff will decide to specialize early on while others may rotate among practices. Many of our more senior staff often work among the multiple practices
