Susan Campbell is a Vice President of Kaufman Hall and a member of the firm’s Strategic and Financial Planning practice. She has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare operations, strategy, and marketing.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Ms. Campbell was Director of Operations for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute (BCVI) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In that role, she led strategic and operational initiatives for the new cardiovascular program, including development and oversight of strategy and service line operations such as finance, marketing, and philanthropy. During her tenure, the institute moved from unranked to 9th in the nation in the 2015 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Rankings for Cardiology and Heart Surgery, five years ahead of a hospital goal.

Ms. Campbell held several other titles during her 11-year tenure at Northwestern, including Division Administrator for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, Administrative Director for the BCVI Clinical Trials Unit, Director for Volunteer Services and Patient Representatives, and Senior Project Director for Business Development and Planning.

Her previous experience includes serving as Manager of Strategy and Transformation for the Health Care Consulting Practice at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, LLC. At Rush Medical Center, she held multiple roles, including Data/Research/Strategy Manager for the Dept. of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery, and Senior Quality Improvement Consultant.

Ms. Campbell has an M.B.A. in Finance, Marketing, and Health Services Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a B.S.N. and B.S. in Biology from Rockhurst University.
