Fernando Torres is a Senior Vice President of Kaufman Hall and a member of the firm’s Strategic and Financial Planning practice. His responsibilities focus on assisting hospitals and health systems across the country in building capabilities for value-based positioning, with an emphasis on health information technology (IT) infrastructure.
Mr. Torres has nearly 15 years of healthcare experience, including positions with consulting firms such as McKinsey & Associates and solution vendors such as McKesson and Evolent Health. His areas of expertise include building informatics for clinically integrated networks and accountable care organizations, and aligning stakeholders for effective population health management. Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Mr. Torres was Practice Leader for the Population Health Management IT division at Himformatics. In that role, he recently led the strategic planning and implementation of a multi-year IT roadmap for the top-rated participant in the New York Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP). His previous positions include serving as a Senior Manager for Corporate Strategy and Business Development at McKesson, and as a Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Torres holds an M.B.A. with a major in Health Care Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Cornell University. He serves on the board for the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, which is dedicated to providing healthcare access to children in the some of the world’s most needy communities.
