David Murdock is a Senior Vice President in Kaufman Hall’s Performance Improvement practice. His responsibilities include providing advisory services to hospitals and health systems nationwide, focusing on performance and quality improvement, management analytics, workforce productivity, and performance excellence. With more than 27 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Murdock has extensive expertise with performance measurement, workforce planning, management systems, and operations with a variety of organizations, including large heath systems, community hospitals, academic medical systems, medical device companies, and group purchasing organizations.

Mr. Murdock has presented at conferences on topics including process simulation in healthcare, staffing strategies in turbulent times, and workforce productivity. He volunteered for several years as a senior examiner for a Baldrige-based performance excellence award for the state of North Carolina.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Mr. Murdock led multifaceted performance improvement engagements for multiple healthcare consulting firms. During that time, he held leadership roles in the consulting practices at General Electric, Novia Strategies, Huron Consulting Group, Quorum Health Resources, and Premier. Mr. Murdock has also had strategic and technical product management roles for knowledge management tools, productivity monitoring applications, and comparative data/benchmarking tools within the healthcare industry.

Mr. Murdock received a B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology from Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C.
