Kit Kamholz, Managing Director of Kaufman Hall, directs the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice. With more than 20 years of M&A experience, focusing on the healthcare industry, Mr. Kamholz provides services related to merger, acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and investment transactions, strategic options assessment, valuations, fairness opinions, and other strategic financial advisory services.
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall in 2002, Mr. Kamholz was as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch, where he managed the firm’s small market merger and acquisition group and focused on the healthcare industry.
Mr. Kamholz has been involved in hundreds of healthcare-related M&A transactions and has extensive sell-side and buy-side financial advisory services experience in the following healthcare services sectors:
- Hospitals and health systems
- Managed care organizations
- Long-term care (skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, independent living, and continuing care retirement communities)
- Home health and hospice
- Physician practices
- Service lines (including rehabilitation, behavioral health, and dialysis)
- Outpatient services (including ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, and walk-in clinics)
Clients have included not-for-profit and for-profit entities, and faith-sponsored organizations.
Mr. Kamholz has spoken on M&A-related topics at industry forums, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Health Forum/ AHA Leadership Summit, and Investment in Merger and Acquisition Opportunities in Healthcare. He has authored white papers and numerous articles published in professional journals, including Trustee magazine.
Mr. Kamholz has an M.B.A. from DePaul University and a B.S. from Illinois State University. He is also a CPA in Illinois.
