Jim Blake is a Managing Director of Kaufman Hall and a member of the Executive Committee. With more than 30 years of experience, he is a leader in strategic and financial solutions for healthcare entities.
Mr. Blake has provided healthcare organizations expert counsel and guidance in areas including strategy, mergers and acquisitions, enterprise risk management, financing, strategic cost management, capital planning, and reorganization and restructuring. His approach with clients is a very organization-specific one—meeting their critical needs in a way that is fully integrated with their overall strategy across both their operations and non-operating assets and liabilities. He frequently speaks and writes on major topics of concern in the healthcare industry.
Having been a leader in healthcare mergers and acquisitions for many years, Mr. Blake has assisted in the creation of many leading healthcare systems and has extensive experience in assisting in “founder” type transactions where two or more entities come together to form a new healthcare company.
Mr. Blake also has senior managed more than $35 billion of financings, working extensively with multi-hospital systems, managed care companies, integrated delivery networks, academic medical centers, universities and physician practice groups, with credit ratings ranging from non-investment grade to “AA.”
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall in June 2009, Mr. Blake was a Managing Director of Citigroup’s Healthcare Group. Prior to this he was a Director with CS First Boston, and a Manager with Arthur Andersen. Mr. Blake has a degree in Mathematics from Harvard University.
